ThrowBack Thursday – Brick, Then & Now

This image has been circulating around Facebook, and it's just incredible. According to the caption, the top pic was taken 116 years ago.

I grew up in Brick off of Maple Avenue, just minutes from this intersection of Herbertsville Road, Thiele Road, and Lanes Mill Road. I always knew that blue house was older, but I had no idea just how old. I was aware that the white building on the left of the pic was over one hundred years old, but it's still so cool to see how it used to just stand there off a dirt road, and how everything has built around it.
