These Stores Are Closing For Thanksgiving

There isn't much we can do against the wave of earlier-and-earlier holiday commercials. It sounds like a stand-up comedy routine, but it really feels like eventually we'll be having Christmas sales in August, Halloween candy on sale in June, and Back to School sales before the previous school year is even over.

There has been a small victory lately, as more and more stores are bucking the trend of early Black Friday sales. For years stores had been opening at 5am on Black Friday, then going earlier and opening at midnight, then even earlier and opening Thanksgiving evening.

Now, many stores are closing, allowing employees to spend the holiday with their families, and allowing shoppers to relax for the night instead of rushing out the door before dessert is even served.
