"You can see all the stars as you walk down Hollywood Boulevard".

Unfortunately, the street is a bit rundown and shabby, and some of those stars actually could use a little TLC, since there are cracks and pieces missing in them.

I took a trip to southern California for my vacation last week and made it up to Hollywood to check out the Hollywood Walk of Fame on the famous boulevard.

I couldn't help thinking of the Kink's song, "Celluloid Heroes", the poignant lyrics running through my mind about  all the people who suffered and struggled for fame, some realizing it, thus attaining their own star along the street, and the countless others, unknowns who suffered and struggled in vain, and whose dreams never came to pass.

It's still cool to see all the famous honored there, although many names become less remembered as the decades go by, and of course so many talented people are never really recognized and remain in obscurity.

But, then:

"Everybody's a dreamer and everybody's a star
And everybody's in show biz, it doesn't matter who you are.

And those who are successful,
Be always on your guard,
Success walks hand in hand with failure
Along Hollywood Boulevard."

Have you walked along Hollywood Boulevard?

What were your impressions?
