The Nine Best Baseball Players From New Jersey
Baseball is one of my favorite distractions. It's a distraction that I'm genuinely passionate about, if that makes sense. While we all wait for MLB to return in some capacity this year, I dug around and found the best baseball players born in New Jersey!
There is a huge list of players born in NJ, and there are some Honorable Mentions that didn't quite make my list:
- Johnny Vander Meer - the only pitcher to throw back-to-back no-hitters
- Dale Berra - the son of Yogi (Yogi was born in St. Louis, Dale born in Montclair)
- Doc Cramer - the namesake of a road in Manahawkin
- Jack Martin - the namesake of a road in Brick
And I would be remiss if I didn't include a list of my favorite baseball names from NJ: Jersey Bakley, Boardwalk Brown, Dummy Stephenson, Sailor Stroud, and Dutch Stryker.
