The Largest Planetarium In The Western Hemisphere Opens This Weekend In NJ

The Liberty Science Center in Jersey City will be the home of an incredible new planetarium that is the largest in the Western Hemisphere - and it opens this weekend!

The Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium and LSC Giant Dome Theater will open Saturday, December 9th. It is the largest and most technologically advanced planetarium in the Western Hemisphere - only two in Japan and one in China are bigger.

The new planetarium boasts a resolution of 88 million pixels, a lighting system that can produce over 281 trillion individual colors, and new speakers capable of producing 30,000 watts of digital sound.

It's been forever since I went to a planetarium...probably not since I was in middle school. Just based on that picture, however, it looks like an amazing experience that I definitely want to check out.
