There is a rumor that the sons of the Beatles are tossing around the idea of joining together to start a band. This could be awesome, but there is also potential for disappointment.

James McCartney, the 34-year-old son of Paul McCartney, recently told the BBC he would be interested in forming a band with the children of the other members of the Beatles. He has been in touch with Sean Lennon, Dhani Harrison, and Zak Starkey; however, according to McCartney, it seems like Starkey is the one least interested. Also, bummer for Julian Lennon for not even being invited.

I think this has potential to be amazing, if done properly. If the four can get together for a huge charity event (think Live Aid or something like that) it would rock the entire world. People would go insane, tickets would be impossible to get, and everyone would be glued to the event.

If they decide to do some tribute tour, where they go around performing the songs of their fathers, dressed up in matching black suits, there is potential to tarnish the image of the Beatles. Despite the shockingly identical looks of all the sons to their fathers, it still would feel cheap to see them pretending to be the originals.
