Texting at Concerts: WTF?

You probably know by now that last Thursday night (7/19) at a concert in Indianapolis, Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden called out an audience member who was texting during the show.

He told him he was a wanker.

I'm sure you know this, but just in case you're not clear, in Britain, the word wanker is commonly used to accuse someone of being:

a) A contemptible person; jerk or b) A male masturbator or c) Both

Now, I don't know about you, but somehow I can't blame Bruce for being pissed off.

I was at a Doors concert in Atlantic City a few years back and most of the audience was texting furiously during the show.

I thought to myself: this is not only disrespectful to the legendary performers on stage, but the texters are missing the actual show while they concentrate on texting about it.

Wankers.
