With the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' performance on The Ed Sullivan Show, I figured today was a good time to bust out my Beatles songs. Pretty hard to narrow down such an amazing collection of songs to just 5, but these are mine; what are yours?
I hope you caught at least some of the special, "The Beatles: The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute" on CBS last night, the show that paid homage to The Beatles on their 50th Anniversary since appearing on the Ed Sullivan show.
Musical guests on The Late Show with David Letterman this week are all about paying homage to The Beatles because this Sunday, February 9th, represents a milestone on the Fab Four's journey to superstardom.
On Dec. 17, 1963, the U.S. still had no idea what was in store. The Beatles had yet to appear on the Ed Sullivan Show where they seemingly overnight changed the landscape of pop music forever. That wouldn't occur until February 1964. However on a mid-December day in 1963, Carroll James of WWDC in Washington, DC played a Beatles record. He wasn't the first to do so in America, but it was the first time things really caught fire.
