Earlier in the week, Seaside Heights officials announced that the new boardwalk would be open from Webster Ave heading south to Seaside Park starting on Saturday.
They opened it early!!
The first pylon for the new boardwalk in Seaside Heights was driven into the sand back in January, and starting this weekend, people will once again will be able to walk on the new boardwalk from Webster Ave south to Seaside Park.
Temporary railings will be installed but there still won't be beach access until Memorial Day
It's hard to believe that today is the six month anniversary of Hurricane Sandy. An event that has changed the Jersey Shore forever.
So many thoughts go through my head about how things are today six months later. I feel a sense of hope and excitement, but I also have a strong sense of anxiety as well.

It's exactly 5 months since Hurricane Sandy ravaged the jersey Shore. There are still a lot of unanswered questions. A lot of anxiety by homeowners who do not know when they will get insurance checks to rebuild or repair their homes.

Hometown Heroes has been serving New Jersey for the last four years by helping out families and individuals in crisis. They have now teamed up with "Restore The Shore" to help out the victims who have lost so much from Superstorm Sandy.
It's hard to believe that another holiday season is upon us. It is really amazing how quickly time goes by. And this time of year makes you reflect on what you have around you.
