3 weeks ago It's hard to believe that today is the six month anniversary of Hurricane Sandy. An event that has changed the Jersey Shore forever.
So many thoughts go through my head about how things are today six months later. I feel a sense of hope and excitement, but I also have a strong sense of anxiety as well.
4 weeks ago East Dover Firehouse is holding their 18th annual golf outing on Thursday may 16th at Bea Lea Golf Course in Toms River.
When Hurricane Sandy hit, it destroyed the firehouse and their much needed equipment to help them do their jobs. The firehouse was filled with over 3 feet of water that destroyed everything they had. They are currently working out of 2 trailers in their parking lot due to the pure destruction inside.

April 18, 2013 Boss of the Sauce is back!!! This is our 10th year, and once again we are going to find out which restaurant on the jersey Shore has the BEST red based tomato sauce.
Of course once again WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Join us at Jenks in Point Pleasant Beach on Monday April 22nd to sample food from over 20 restaurants, and crown a restaurant “Boss of the Sauce”

April 12, 2013 The family of Brandon Holt will be holding a candle light vigil tonight at 9pm following the services at the Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals on Main St. In Toms River. They would like to welcome the community to join them in a march from the funeral home to Huddy Park in remembrance of little Brandon. Anyone who would like to show support please bring a candle.
April 11, 2013 Another one of the casualties after Hurricane Sandy was all the displaced pets and animals. Animal shelters were overwhelmed with the amount of animals that came in days following Hurricane Sandy. The cost to run, and maintain the animal shelters financially went through the roof

Operation Cupcake was started in November 2012 by two fifth grade New Jersey girls Emma and Nina who wanted to use their love of baking cupcakes to support Hurricane Sandy victims and relief workers. Click READ MORE to check out their video.
