Seasonably warm temperatures, low humidity, and sunny skies will persist only for the first half of the weekend.

Here are your weather headlines for Friday, July 24, 2015...

Nice Weather Continues

Friday will be day #3 of this "nice wave" which has featured widespread sunshine, warm temperatures, and low humidity. Not a bad way to end the workweek.

Early clouds will once again give way to sunshine later on. Fair-weather cumulus clouds are likely again this afternoon. Inland high temperatures should reach the seasonably warm mid 80s. A stiff sea breeze will keep the beach a bit cooler, likely in the lower to mid 70s (especially on the barrier island beaches).

We'll carry the near picture-perfect weather through the first part of the upcoming weekend. Despite a few extra clouds on Saturday, highs should once again top out in the mid 80s. (It will be a bit cooler at the shore, as usual.) Humidity will remain low, with dew points in the 50s on Saturday.

Sunday: Noticeable Changes

All good things must come to an end, and subtle changes to our weather send Sunday's forecast a bit downhill from Saturday's. First, humidity will noticeably increase Saturday night, leading to a warmer Sunday morning and a fairly sticky Sunday afternoon. Second, you'll notice more clouds in the sky on Sunday. And third, the chance for rain is back in the forecast, as widely scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected.

The day shouldn't be a total loss though. This is especially true given the "scattered" coverage of the expected rain, and the fact we're not expecting huge deluges or widespread severe weather. Additionally, the rain chance looks to be limited to North Jersey on Sunday morning, spreading through the rest of the state during the afternoon and evening hours. Certainly not a washout. But Sunday will be a day to keep an eye on the sky if you have outdoor plans of any sort.

Next Week: Steamy

Beyond the weekend, New Jersey's weather will get hot and steamy again. Temperatures will approach 90&deg. (If the current forecast verifies, we'll be talking about another official heatwave by about Wednesday.) Meanwhile, dew points will hover in the 60s and even 70s for much of next week. We currently have storm chances in the forecast for Monday afternoon and evening too.
