Next week in Toms River, home and business owners can view and discuss designs and methods of reinforcing structural integrity for extreme conditions in a pair of workshops on successive days.

Storm Resilience for your Home, Business, Neighborhood and Community takes place May 23, 4 PM, in the Toms River Senior Center, 652 Garfield Avenue, and again May 24, 7 PM in the Toms River Town Hall on Washington Street, in the lower-level employee lounge.

Leading the discussions is Joe Augustyn, PP, AICP, representing the Mount Holly-based Alaimo Group engineering firm, which specializes in architectural and structural applications, surface and sub-surface planning for roads, water treatment and conduction, storm drainage, waste management and watershed development.

See the Alaimo Group’s draft Design Standards Guidance standards for homes and neighborhoods here.

Augustyn recently offered the firm’s presentation to the Ortley Beach Voters and Taxpayers Association, at its regularly-scheduled meeting.

The workshops are part of the Post-Sandy Planning Assistance Grant, providing design standards guidance.
