He was born John Lyon on December 4, 1948 in Neptune Township, New Jersey.
He's still fronting his band, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, which launched back in 1975.
The band hits Red Bank for "the best New Year's Eve party in town" for the 14th time at the Count Basie Theater.
