Spend New Year’s Eve with One of Jersey’s Own Legends

But first, happy belated birthday to Southside Johnny, who grew up in Ocean Grove, and turned 64 yesterday.

He was born John Lyon on December 4, 1948 in Neptune Township, New Jersey.

He’s still fronting his band, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, which launched back in 1975.

The band hits Red Bank for “the best New Year’s Eve party in town” for the 14th time at the Count Basie Theater.

On southsidejohnny.com, you ‘ll find this quote on the home page:

When I grew up, I wanted to be a Juke…
I still want to be a Juke.
- Jon Bon Jovi
