Back in January, it was announced that Sweetwaters Coffee and Tea would be opening up a new location in the Ocean County Mall. It would have been just their second location in New Jersey, and first at the Jersey Shore.

Things were a lot simpler in January, and since then, pretty much every plan we had was altered, postponed, or cancelled. After a delay of a few months, Sweetwaters is finally ready to open.

According to the Asbury Park Press, Sweetwaters will be part of the Ocean County Mall's new "lifestyle center", along with Five Below and LA Fitness (which is obviously closed due to restrictions on gyms). Homesense and Ulta Beauty are also planned for the "lifestyle center", but haven't opened yet. There are a lot of changes coming to the Ocean County Mall, and it will be awesome to see how it looks once everything is ready to go.

Since they can't really hold a big Grand Opening party with the restrictions on public gatherings, they are instead doing a six-week rollout. Each week, the franchise owner will give a portion of proceeds to the following local charities: the Toms River Artist Community, Associated Humane Societies' Popcorn Park, George P. Vanderveer American Legion Post 129, Fulfill, Toms River Field of Dreams and Toms River Regional Schools.

The Ocean County Mall location will actually end up being the third Sweetwaters in New Jersey, and second at the Shore - a few months ago, they opened up a spot on Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park. They also have plans to open in Freehold soon.

I'm not a coffee drinker, but my wife is, so I'm sure she'll be down to try this out. I am partial to tea, and their menu looks pretty solid. They also have frozen drinks, hot chocolate, Italian sodas, pastries, desserts, and more.

Thanks to my amazing coworker Diana at WOBM for the heads up.
