A Southern Regional High School graduate was named the Navy's "Reserve Sailor Of The Year" in a ceremony last week.

Equipment Operator 1st Class Steven Butterhof was named the Navy's Reserve Sailor Of The Year last Wednesday at a luncheon in Virginia Beach.

In a press release from The Navy Office Of Community Outreach, Rear Admiral Frank Morneau said,

When you become the number one Sailor in a Command, let alone one of our Groups, that's an enormous compliment to your hard work, dedication to the mission, and commitment to your fellow Sailors.

Butterhof is assigned to the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion.

He was actually born in Italy, moved to the US at age 11, and attended Southern Regional High School before joining the Navy.
