South Jersey Town Considering Name Change

Could a Jersey version of "Brexit" be taking place? North Wildwood residents will be voting on whether to stay a part of The Wildwoods, or rename the town to Angelsea.

The vote could come as soon as November, after a petition was presented to the city council.

The area was originally known as Angelsea, but in 1885 it was renamed North Wildwood, in an attempt to tie into the popularity of Wildwood.

Wildwood Mayor Ernie Traiano Jr voiced his disagreement with the plan, saying

It would be safe to say I'd take great umbrage to that. I'd be willing to cut the S right off that Wildwoods sign."
