Six Flags Great Adventure Breaks Record with Tallest Drop Ride in the World

Six Flags announced Tuesday  that the final piece of steel was placed on it's monster ride.

This ride really is the tallest drop ride in the world.

Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom will lift riders 41 stories into the air before bringing them straight back to earth at 90 mph.

The ride is expected to be opened for Memorial Day weekend, according to nj.com.

Zumanjaro, which is twice the height of the Statue of Liberty, is the tallest drop ride in the world, the park said. Riders will pause for a moment at the top before it plunges the 41-story stretch in less than 10 seconds, the park said.

On Tuesday, ironworkers from Shamrock Construction placed the last piece of steel atop the tower, the park said.

The park is scheduled to open Saturday, April 12, about 1½ months ahead of Zumanjaro.
