A Seaside Heights man accused of killing his roommate at the Glendale Motel on Lincoln Avenue in the borough in February has been indicted, according to the Ocean County Prosecutors Office.

Matthew Joseph DeMartin, 37, of Seaside Heights remains incarcerated in the Ocean County Jail.

The indictment stems from an investigation that began on Thursday, February 22, 2018 around 11:19 am when Seaside Heights Police and local EMS responded to a 911 call at the Glendale Motel.

They found an unresponsive female upon arrival, later identified as Sharon Falcetano, 59, who was pronounced dead at 11:43 am at the scene.

Officers immediately secured the scene and contacted the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Unit and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CIU to begin the investigation.

An autopsy conducted by the Ocean County Medical Examiner determined that the victim suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries to her head and body.

The manner of death was determined to be homicide.

The investigation was conducted by Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Seaside Heights Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigations Unit.

The case is being prosecuted by Chief of Special Litigation Unit Anthony Pierro & Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Michael Abatemarco.
