I know that sounds strange but it is absolutely true.

Even though Russell Wilson is the starting QB for the Seattle Seahawks, the baseball organization, Texas Rangers have owned the rights to him since 2013.

Today, the Texas Rangers have traded those rights to the New York Yankees for future considerations.

According to ESPN:

He has long expressed a desire to play for the Yankees, and Rangers general manager Jon Daniels and his New York counterpart, Brian Cashman, have spent several weeks working to accommodate his wishes

The Yankees said they will assign Wilson to their Double-A Trenton roster.

Don't worry Mets Fans...We still have Tim Tebow!!!!!
