It was back in June that  I announced my wife and I were expecting. A week later we had a gender cake that revealed we would be having a little girl. Admittedly, I didn't give as many updates as I could have, but the support that you all gave was great.

Exactly six months to the day after the announcement, we welcomed our baby girl to the world!

My wife and I went to Ocean Medical on Monday morning, December 5th. Our original due date was the 4th, so her doctors said if the baby didn't come naturally by then, she'd be induced. My wife was strong for 17(!) hours, but just before midnight the doctor said we'd have to go with a c-section. Once we agreed that was the best course of action, we were whisked away to the Operating Room. I was given a set of scrubs (complete with booties, mask & hairnet) and got wheeled in on a wheelchair. At 12:26am, our baby came kicking and screaming into this world.

Big thanks to all the nurses at Ocean Medical Center, they were truly great. They were all friendly, considerate, helpful and understanding. We were in the hospital from 7am Monday til 5pm Thursday, and they were wonderful the whole time.

Thanks again to all of you, too, who 'liked' that Instagram post, sent messages of congratulations and well-wishing on Facebook, and just sent us positive vibes for the past few months.

Without getting overly emotional and mushy, I can honestly say I've never been so happy. I haven't slept much in the past week, I cleaned up black tar diapers, I even got some poop sprayed on me...but I wouldn't give her up for anything in the world.
