A fire at 45 Fox Street in Manchester Township just before 7 am Saturday morning displaces the residents who call this location home, but investigators say none of them were inside at the time and crews saved their pet cat.

The cause of the blaze inside Pine Ridge section home remains under investigation but appears accidental at this point and may have stemmed from the furnace and water heater area.

Authorities say the residents of the home went to stay with other family nearby after the residence was deemed "uninhabitable".

Heavy smoke and flames filled the Saturday morning air at the Manchester residence where crews from the Whiting Volunteer Fire Department were able to put out the blaze.

The cat was rescued by firefighters after being stuck inside but didn't suffer any injuries.
