A Ronnie Montrose tribute concert has been organized for Friday, April 27 at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, Calif. The show will pay honor to the influential guitarist, who died on March 3 after a battle with cancer.

According to Blabbermouth, an all-star line-up that includes former and current members of Journey, Kiss, Y&T and Mr. Big will appear. The show will also include performances by surviving member lineups of Montrose and Gamma, both of which were founded by the late guitarist.

Original Montrose members Sammy Hagar, Denny Carmassi and Bill Church will be joined by Hagar’s buddy Joe Satriani (Chickenfoot) on guitar. Meanwhile, Gamma will feature Davey Pattison, Denny Carmassi, Glen Lesch, Tommy Suczek and Marc Bonilla.

The all-star band mentioned earlier will consist of Neal Schon and Steve Smith (Journey), drummer Eric Singer (Kiss, Alice Cooper) along with members of Styx, Mr. Big, Y&T and Tesla.

As previously reported, many classic rockers have come clean about Montrose’s huge influence, including Def Leppard’s Phil Collen. “Oh, that first Montrose album, we play it over the P.A. every night before we go on,” the guitarist  said during a 1988 interview.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 30.
