It's been a while since Jersey Paddler in Brick closed, and the space at the corner of Route 70 and Route 88 has been sitting empty.

A convenience store chain looking to take on Wawa and Quick Chek will be taking over the lot, according to the Brick Township Board of Adjustment.

Royal Farms is a gas station/convenience store chain, mostly located in Maryland and Virginia. They have five stores in NJ already, but this will be the first in Ocean County.

If you look at the above picture, the proposal seems to show the main store taking over the Jersey Paddler building, and the gas pumps will go in the lot behind the building on the Route 88 side. An additional driveway is being planned for Olden Street.

Brick Patch has a ton of detail about the construction, the size of the store, the signage, and more.
