Since it's National Day of the Cowboy tomorrow, July 28, I started thinking about rockers and cowboys.

Of course, there are more than a few rock musicians that find the cowboy theme irresistible.

Maybe it's because cowboys are independent, live an unconventional lifestyle, work hard (and surely party hard at times) and represent the true American spirit, that at least some rock artists definitely relate to them.

And then there's the traveling. Let's not forget the endless traveling of the rock band and the cowboy.

Bon Jovi sings about a loaded six-string, being a cowboy on a steel horse and a six gun lover, Poison said every one sings a sad, sad song, and Steve Miller was the space variety.

Tell me, what other rock artists' songs can you think of that glorify the cowboy theme?
