The guitarist and vocalist for Procol Harum in the 60's and then leader of The Robin Trower Band in the 70's, Robin was born on March 9, 1945 in South East London, England.

Trower might not be as well-known as some other musicians/guitarists, but he's been influential for other guitar masters, including Robert Fripp (King Crimson), who took lessons with Robin back in the day.

His most famous album is 1974's Bridge of Sighs. I remember the tour for that album and how entranced I was by his performance of the title track:
