First, a happy birthday to Ringo Starr, who was born on July 7, 1940 in Liverpool, England.

Ringo has been reminiscing about the 50th anniversary of the Beatle's 'A Hard Day's Night' film, and says it still remains a surreal experience for him.

According to billboard.com, Ringo explains it this way:

"I mean, we were in a movie, man. We were making a movie!

Four guys from Liverpool making a movie -- it was so great.

I loved it.....because the next movie ('Help!') was sort of based around me, based around the ring and Kaili."

"A Hard Day's Night" returned to theaters on July 4 and continues showings throughout the summer.

I'm a big fan of the movie and would love to see it on the big screen, how about you?

If so, one of the theaters featuring the film is the ShowRoom in Asbury Park.

A full schedule of screenings can be found here.

June saw the release of a Criterion Collection version of the film on DVD and Blu-ray, featuring a new digital restoration of the film approved by director Richard Lester.
