Happy early birthday to Ric Ocasek, who was born on March 23, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland.

He released a book last November called “Lyrics & Prose”, which is a collection of not just his lyrics but his early handwritten notes and set lists, interspersed with album artwork and photographs.

Ric will always be synonymous with The Cars, of course.

But he’s done much more than just front and write songs for that band, he’s also had a long career as a record producer, as well as some success as a solo artist.

The founding members of the Cars reunited in 2010.

The last album they released was “Move Like This” in May of 2011.
