Remembering Guitarist Darrell ‘Dimebag’ Abbott – The Greatest Pantera Songs
It was on this day December 8th, 2004 that we lost a legendary guitarist in Darrell “Dimebag” Abbott. Dimebag was performing with his new band Damageplan in a Columbus Ohio club when a crazed gunman took the stage and shot and killed Abbott.
VH1 did an amazing documentary a few years ago about Dimebag Darell’s death, you can see a clip of that below.
Although taken from the rock world way too young, Dimebag Darrell left us with a great legacy of music. The earth-rattling songs of Pantera still generate mosh pits and can best be described as a pure shot of adrenaline to the ears. Dimebag’s guitar riffs are some of the most famous of all time.
In celebration of Dimebag’s life and legacy, we present in no particular order (because they’re all so awesome in their own right) the best Pantera songs of all time.
