Fourteen years is a long time.

During that time, you can go to high school three-and-a-half times or go from infancy to puberty.  Fourteen years ago, there was no iPod and no iPhones, social media, Bluetooths or Homeland Security.

Fourteen years ago I was in my very late 20s, and am now in my early 40s (uggh). In my 20s, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Free Beer & Hot Wings for the first time.

They were the new morning show at what was then the "all-new" 105.7 The Hawk.

Our General Manager Don Dalesio asked me to spend an afternoon with the boys and tell them all about the shore.

We spent a few hours driving around Monmouth and Ocean counties, then ended up on the Point Boardwalk.

Since then, Zane has made fun of my ‘anal-ness’ at big events (that’s another story for another blog).  It’s hard to believe I’m back at the station working with these guys all these years later.  And, not to sound cheesy (although producer Steve’s nickname for me use to be ‘Teddy Cheese1), but the guys are still the “same” guys I met all those years ago, as in, genuinely funny, good dudes.

I’m really looking forward to their live show at River Rock Restaurant and Marina Bar in Brick on June 27th.  If you’ve never seen them do the show live, it’s a real treat.  If you have, then you know what I’m talking about.  It’s live radio at it’s funniest.  So click here right now to buy your ticket so you can be in the live studio audience.  Who knows what lies ahead for the next 14 years.  I can only imagine what cool things are ahead of us.
