A missing Rider University student from Manalapan who has not been seen since Sunday has been found safe.

New Jersey State Police tweeted out the news late Friday afternoon.

The New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit joined the search for Sahbrene Elmahalawy, an 18-year-old who was last seen when she was dropped off by her parents on the Lawrence Township university's campus on Sunday.

Lawrence Police tell the Times of Trenton that a search of Elmahalawy's on-campus apartment shows no foul play but indications she may be headed to California. A bus schedule and evidence she was in contact with someone described as a friend was found; her laptop and some clothes are missing.

Her credit card records are also being checked.

Anyone with information regarding Elmahalawy should call Lawrence Township Police Department at (609)896-1111 or the New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit at (800)709-7090.
