One would assume that a pot farm would have some weaponry for protection, but Howell Township police were surprised to find a grenade launcher during a raid.

Detective Sgt. Christian Antunez said the raid at a location on Route 34 turned up thirty marijuana plants and one gram of cocaine. Police also found the grenade launcher, which fires 37mm explosive rounds, a sawed-off shotgun, handgun, rifles and shotguns.

Howell Township police were assisted by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, New Jersey State Police and the U.S. Navy's Criminal Investigative Service. Antunez said the NCIS was involved because the raid occurred at a home that had once been the housing for the commanding officer at Naval Weapons Station Earle, but the suspect has no connection to the military.
