Point Pleasant’s American Idol Accused Of Selling Heroin

Way back in the halcyon days of 2007, Point Pleasant's Antonella Barba made a run into the Top 16 of American Idol.

She experienced a bit of controversy back then, when pictures of her in a wet t-shirt surfaced. The pics themselves were tame, but the fact that she was posing sexily in the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. was a tad tasteless.

Sexy pictures are hardly comparable to what happened to Barba late late week, when she was busted in Norfolk, Virginia, for "selling or intending to sell" 100 grams of heroin.

I actually met Antonella when she came to visit one of our sister stations, back when I was a member of our Promotions Department. She was sweet, her parents were nice, and it's a total shock that she was busted for heroin. It's hard to say something like "how far she's fallen" considering the height of her fame was never that great, but it's just a shame to see anyone fall into the pit of heroin abuse.
