On December 30, a  family in Howell had tragedy strike when a fire started in their attic and caused severe damage to their home. Now, they need help as they look to rebuild. The father is an active serviceman and the mother is 7 months pregnant. They currently have 3 children and reportedly staying at a hotel. Below is the letter from the Howell Police Athletic League requesting help.

Below is an update on the family:

The family has been overwhelmed by and grateful for the support the residents of Howell have shown. They thank everyone for their generosity and support. Howell's response has been remarkable and amazing!

At this time the family is staying in a hotel. Although they are grateful for the donations they have received, they do not have room for additional donations such as household items, clothing etc. Once a more permanent residence is established, they will graciously look at accepting such items.

PAL and the Township, however, are still accepting gift cards and monetary donations. Anyone wishing to donate household goods, furniture, toys or other items please contact PAL at info@howellpal.org.

A Go Fund Me site has also been setup for the family.
