Brick Police continue investigating a fatal pedestrian crash after a township man was struck by a driver trying to cross Lanes Mill Road Route 549 north of a crosswalk at the Stephan Road intersection.

William P. Johnson, 52, passed shortly after police arrival around 8:14 pm.

Investigators say the driver of the 2011 Silver 4-door Toyota Camry, Moshe Wachsman, 35, of Lakewood, was not impaired nor on his cell phone.

Police say Wachsman was heading southbound in the outside lane on Lanes Mill Road near Dorado Plaza when Johnson was trying to cross the street from the east side and a collision ensued.

Johnson fell to the ground in the lane the car was in while Wachsman finally came to a stop near the intersection of Stephen Road.

No charges have been reported as the investigation continues.

Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call the Brick Police Traffic Safety Unit at 732-262-1140.

The Brick Township Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit responded to the scene to investigate the crash along with the Department's Patrol Units and Emergency Medical Services along with MONOC Paramedics.

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Vehicular Homicide Unit responded to assist in the investigation as well as the Ocean County Medical Examiner's Office along with the Sheriff Department's Criminal Investigation Unit .
