According to a statement from plant operator Excelon, the emergency preparedness drill will involve municipalities, emergency management agencies, and law enforcement within a 10-mile radius of the plant in Forked River. The drill will include State Police and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection as well.

The ability of both plant personnel and and emergency crews to respond to several simulated scenarios will be evaluated by FEMA.

Those in the immediate area of the plant may hear the public address system but emergency sirens around Ocean County will not be used in the drill.
