Ocean Township Detective Lieutenant Kevin Faller says a patrol officer stopped a car speeding through the store’s parking lot on Route 35 shortly after 10 PM. The manager was behind the wheel, and told Patrolman William Crosta that he had just fled trom the two men, dressed in black and wearing ski masks. The victim said that one of them produced what appeared to be a handgun.

Police say he foiled their attempt by pulling away, and they ran toward West Park Avenue. Officers aided by a K-9 Team from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office found no trace of the suspects.

Both are described as black males in their late teens or early 20s. One is described as 6’0″ to 6’4″ in height, the second as 5’8″ to 5’10″ in height. Both reportedly wore black hooded sweatshirts, black pants and ski masks.

Anyone with knowledge of the incident or with information that can help lead to arrests should call Detective Michael Legg: 732-531-1800.
