Just over 7,000 JCP&L customers have lost power in Ocean & Warren counties;  earlier outages in Mercer, Hunterdon, Sussex, Morris and Warren have been restored. There are a number of outages in PSEG’s service area as well.

The storms moved quickly across New Jersey during the morning with quick downpours and gusty winds that hit 45 – 50 MPH in some spots according to the National Weather Service including Keyport and Sandy Hook. There are numerous reports from Boonton, PIttstown, Camden, Glassboro and Monmouth Beach of downed trees and wind damage.

There was  not much lightning associated with this storm.

NJ Transit’s Morris and Essex Gladstone Branch continues to have 20 minute delays due to signal problems.

The high winds are causing 2 hour delays at Newark, Philadelphia and Kennedy Airports while LaGuardia has three hour delays. There are a number of accidents on side streets and secondary roads as leaves on the road are causing slick conditions and branches fall from trees.
