NJSIAA Wrestling Tournament Remains in Atlantic City Despite Lady Gaga Concert

The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association announced today that the individual state wrestling championships would remain at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City for the next three years.

The announcement comes amid speculation about the fate of the popular event because a Lady Gaga concert is scheduled for Boardwalk Hall on March 2, 2013 which would be the middle day of the three-day wrestling event.

The NJSIAA announced that the upcoming wrestling tournament would move to the second weekend of March in 2013 which will result in a near 2-week gap between the end of the region championships and the start of the state tournament.

Atlantic City has hosted the state wrestling event since 1992 with the exception of two-years when Boardwalk Hall was undergoing renovations. Nearly 40,000 fans attend the annual event.
