Nikki Sixx: “The Most Important Thing About a Farewell Tour is That the Band Doesn’t Lie to the Fans”
Nikki Sixx is determined that Motley Crue launch an authentic farewell tour that excludes the band coming back years later.
More on that in a minute, but first, happy birthday to Sixx, who turns 55 years old today, born Frank Carlton Serafino Feranna, Jr. on December 11, 1958 in San Jose, California.
Motley Crue frontman, Vince Neil said a few months ago that the band was preparing to launch a 2014 farewell tour and according to an interview at rollingstone.com, Nikki doesn’t confirm the timing, but reveals that indeed the band is gearing up for a final road jaunt together, and he’s fine with that.
Someone said to me the other day, “Won’t you be sad?” I go, “No, I’d be sad if we were playing half-full theaters and only two band members were in the band.” That would be sad. Sad is not taking your final bow in Los Angeles all together as four brothers.
Vince Neil said that the Crue would kick off the farewell tour in the spring of next year and release a new album at the same time.
