NHRA Summer Nationals Start Today

It was Media Day at Raceway Park for the NHRA Summer Nationals, so our Digital Guru Brad, intern Jess and I went up to meet some of the NHRA racers and take our shot at riding in a dragster down the strip!

We checked in, got into our badass firesuits...and then it started to rain. And then it kept raining, and then the skies opened up like monsoon season in the South Pacific. Unfortunately with weather like that, even just a little rain, it's way too dangerous to drag race, so we missed out. The crew at Raceway Park & Pure Speed Racing was awesome though, and invited us back for another chance in August!

We did get some pictures of racers Antron Brown, Eddie Krawiec, & Cruz Pedregon. Antron Brown was also honored with a street named after him.

It was three years ago when I went up to Raceway Park and got to do a ride-along, so missing out this time wasn't the worst. My goal was simply to beat my time from the last ride. Come August, I'm setting a new record!
