Drew Brees broke a long-standing NFL record, and several other teams won close games in the closing minutes on Sunday. Here's a recap of all of this week's games:

New Orleans 31 — San Diego 24

Drew Brees threw a touchdown pass in his 48th straight game to break Johnny Unitas' 52-year-old NFL record, and the New Orleans Saints beat the San Diego Chargers, 31-24, in New Orleans on Sunday night. New Orleans (1-4) recorded its first victory of the 2012 season by coming from behind after San Diego (3-2) led, 24-14, early in the second half.

Brees completed 29 of 45 passes for 370 yards and four touchdowns, including three to Marques Colston, who finished with nine catches for 131 yards. Devery Henderson, who caught the record-breaking score, finished with eight receptions for 123 yards. Philip Rivers threw for 354 yards, two touchdowns and an interception for the Chargers, while teammate Malcom Floyd caught five passes for 108 yards. Robert Meachem had two touchdown receptions for San Diego.

Indianapolis 30 — Green Bay 27

Andrew Luck threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Reggie Wayne with 35 seconds to play, and the Indianapolis Colts beat the Green Bay Packers, 30-27, in Indianapolis on Sunday. Playing without head coach Chuck Pagano, who was diagnosed with leukemia earlier in the week, Indianapolis (2-2) rallied behind Luck after trailing 21-3 at the half. Green Bay (2-3) could have forced overtime, but Mason Crosby missed a 51-yard field goal with 3 seconds remaining.

Luck passed for 362 yards, two scores and an interception, while Wayne had 13 receptions, a career-best 212 yards and the game-winning touchdown catch. Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers finished with 243 passing yards, three touchdowns and an interception. James Jones had four receptions for 46 yards and two scores for the Packers.

Atlanta 24 — Washington 17

Michael Turner ran for a 13-yard touchdown with 2:46 to play, and the Atlanta Falcons beat the Washington Redskins, 24-17, in Landover, Md. on Sunday. The victory moved Atlanta to 5-0 for the first time in franchise history. Washington (2-3) lost rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III to a mild concussion after he was sacked by linebacker Sean Weatherspoon.

Falcons' quarterback Matt Ryan completed 34 of 52 passes for 345 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Tony Gonzalez caught 13 passes for 123 yards and a score, while teammate Julio Jones added 10 receptions for 94 yards and a touchdown. Alfred Morris ran for 115 yards for the Redskins. Back-up quarterback Kirk Cousins, also a rookie, threw for 111 yards and a score for Washington, but he also had two passes picked off.

Pittsburgh 16 — Philadelphia 14

Shaun Suisham kicked a 34-yard field goal as time expired, and the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Philadelphia Eagles, 16-14, in Pittsburgh on Sunday. Philadelphia (3-2) grabbed its first lead of the game with 6:33 to play after Michael Vick threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Brent Celek. However, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger helped Pittsburgh (2-2) drive down the field for the winning kick. Steelers' running back Rashard Mendenhall ran for 81 yards and a touchdown. Vick passed for 175 yards and two scores, but his two fumbles hurt the Eagles.

Miami 17 — Cincinnati 13

Reshad Jones intercepted an Andy Dalton pass with less than two minutes to play, and the Miami Dolphins beat the Cincinnati Bengals, 17-13, in Cincinnati on Sunday. Reggie Bush and Daniel Thomas each ran for scores for Miami (2-3), which lost its past two games in overtime. Dalton was 26 of 43 for 234 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions for Cincinnati (3-2). A.J. Green caught nine passes for 65 yards and a score for the Bengals.

Baltimore 9 — Kansas City 6

Justin Tucker kicked three field goals, and the Baltimore Ravens beat the Kansas City Chiefs, 9-6, in Kansas City on Sunday. Ray Rice ran for 102 yards on 17 carries for Baltimore (4-1). The Ravens' defense kept Kansas City (1-4) from the end zone, thanks in part to four Chiefs' turnovers. Kansas City quarterback Matt Cassel passed for 92 yards and had two interceptions and a fumble, before leaving with a head injury in the fourth quarter.

New England 31— Denver 21

Stevan Ridley ran for 151 yards and a touchdown, and the New England Patriots beat the Denver Broncos, 31-21, in Foxborough, Mass. on Sunday. Tom Brady completed 23 of 31 passes for 223 yards and one touchdown, and he ran for another for New England (3-2). Wes Welker had 13 receptions for 104 yards and a score for the Patriots. Denver (2-3) was led by quarterback Peyton Manning, who was 31 of 44 for 345 yards and three touchdowns. Receiver Demaryius Thomas caught nine passes for 188 yards for the Broncos.

N.Y. Giants 41 — Cleveland 27

Victor Cruz caught three touchdown passes and Ahmad Bradshaw ran for 200 yards, as the New York Giants beat the Cleveland Browns, 41-27, in East Rutherford, N.J. on Sunday. Eli Manning passed for 259 yards and the three scores to Cruz for New York (3-2). Cleveland (0-5) committed three turnovers and allowed the Giants to rush for 243 yards. Brandon Weeden threw for 291 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions for the Browns, while fellow rookie Trent Richardson ran for 81 yards and a score.

Seattle 16 — Carolina 12

Russell Wilson's 13-yard touchdown pass to Golden Tate in the third quarter led the Seattle Seahawks over the Carolina Panthers, 16-12, in Charlotte on Sunday. Wilson threw for 221 yards, a score and two interceptions for Seattle (3-2), which saw Marshawn Lynch run for 85 yards on 21 carries. Cam Newton passed for 141 yards and ran for another 42 yards to lead Carolina (1-4).

Chicago 41 — Jacksonville 3

Charles Tillman and Lance Briggs each returned interceptions for touchdowns for the second time in a week, and the Chicago Bears dominated the Jacksonville Jaguars, 41-3, in Jacksonville on Sunday. With the game tied 3-3 at halftime, Chicago (4-1) scored 38 unanswered points in the second half. Matt Forte carried 22 times for 107 yards for the Bears, while teammate Brandon Marshall had 12 catches for 144 yards and a score. Jacksonville (1-4) managed just 189 yards of total offense.

Minnesota 30 — Tennessee 7

Percy Harvin caught eight passes for 108 yards and had a rushing touchdown, and the Minnesota Vikings beat the Tennessee Titans, 30-7, in Minneapolis on Sunday. Christian Ponder threw for 258 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions for Minnesota (4-1). Matt Hasselbeck passed for 200 yards, one touchdown and one interception for Tennessee (1-4), which never seriously threatened the Vikings' lead.

San Francisco 45 — Buffalo 3

Alex Smith passed for 303 yards and three touchdowns, and the San Francisco 49ers beat the Buffalo Bills, 45-3, in San Francisco on Sunday. Frank Gore ran for 106 yards and a score for San Francisco (4-1), which garnered a franchise-record 621 yards of offense. Michael Crabtree and Vernon Davis each eclipsed 100 yards receiving for the 49ers. Buffalo (2-3) had only 89 rushing yards in absorbing its second consecutive big defeat.
