Chefs International, the group who already owns several restaurants in our area (including Jack Baker's Lobster Shanty and the Wharfside in Point Pleasant, Water Street Grille in Toms River and 9th Avenue Pier in Belmar) got approval from the Brick Town Council to build a new restaurant at Traders Cove in Brick.

Mayor John Ducey says the restaurant is scheduled to open in the summer of 2017. It will feature boat access, a bar area, and a beach area with fire pits. Existing boat access and other amenities on the site would not be impacted by the project.

The restaurant will be open from April to September, with year-round operations possible, according to Dianne DeOliveira of Townsquare News.

Ducey pointed out no taxpayer money is being used and noted that money from the lease will be used to pay down the $15 million in bonds that were taken out to pay for the property, according to The Patch.
