Athletes from the Garden State took home 12 medals (5 gold, 4 silver, 3 bronze) during the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

If NJ had competed as its own nation, they would have finished 22nd, just behind Kenya and Uzbekistan's 13 medals.

The US total of 12 was greater than countries like Cuba, Croatia, Czech Republic, Jamaica, Poland, Serbia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and Ukraine.

Maybe Laurie Hernandez won't be the only Olympian hanging out at Wawa!
