A federal undercover investigation has led to six New Jersey residents being charged for their roles in an interstate dog fighting network spanning from New Mexico to New Jersey.

The Humane Society of the United States said a total of 66 dogs were rescued. Dog-fighting paraphernalia was seized at properties in New Jersey, Illinois, Indiana, New Mexico and Washington, D.C.  The dogs will be held at a temporary shelter where they will receive care and medical treatment.

NJ.com has the names of those charged. If convicted, each person charged faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine per count of animal fighting charges.
