The New Jersey Devils open the regular season on October 7 but a group of former players will be in Toms River Saturday for a very special charity hockey game. The Devils Alumni Association will skate against a team made up of coaches from Lacey Township and Central Regional High School as well as players representing local and state law enforcement under the banner of Team Owen.

The game and Team Owen is in memory of Owen Koehler, an 11-year old boy from Lacey who lost his battle with brain cancer just over three months ago. Sponsored by Thompson Healthcare & Sports Medicine Saturday’s game at Winding River Skating Center (8pm) will benefit the cancer charity of choice by Owen’s parents Mike & Kate.

Admission is $15.
