He was born on November 12, 1945 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Writing, touring, inventing, Neil is as busy creating as ever.

On September 25, 2012 Young's journal Waging Heavy Peace: A Hippie Dream was released to critical & commercial acclaim.

He's also developing a high-resolution digital-to-analog music-download service, player and audio format to "try and rescue the art form that I've been practicing for the past 50 years."

It's called Pono (Hawaiian for righteousness) and it's slated to be released in 2013, promising to present songs as they first sound during studio recording.

Young has publicly expressed discontent with digital sound quality, criticizing in particular Apple's iTunes.

Meanwhile, Neil Young and his old band Crazy Horse just released the two-disc album, Psychedelic  Pill.

They're currently on tour and will hit Madison Square Garden on November 27th, The Wells Fargo Center in Philly on November 29th, and The Barclays Center in Brooklyn on December 3rd.
