Monmouth University Snubbed For NCAA Tournament
Despite victories over schools like UCLA, Notre Dame, USC and Georgetown, the NCAA Tournament will not feature the Monmouth Hawks.
Beating UCLA was Monmouth's first win in school history against a PAC-12 team. The win over Notre Dame was the Hawk's first-ever win over at Top25 team. Beating Georgetown was the first time the school beat a Big East team.
My alma mater got national recognition this year for the antics of the Bench Mob as well. So not only is the March Madness Tournament losing a competitive team who beat some big-name opponents and could have pulled off some great upsets, they're also losing one of the most entertaining groups in the country.
The Hawks did claim a 1-seed in this year's National Invitation Tournament. The Hawks will host the Bucknell Bison on Wednesday night at 7:30pm at the MAC in West Long Branch. You can buy tickets to cheer on the Hawks right here!
