Mets Sign Curtis Granderson: Report

Curtis Granderson is changing boroughs and signing a contract with the Mets.

The Yankee outfielder has agreed to a four-year, $60 million contract according to the New York Post, which predicts he will bat cleanup for the Mets behind David Wright.

He is the second free agent signing for the Mets who also signed outfielder Chris Young. The team was not looking to sign him to four-years but were wanted to be perceived as “real players” in the free agent market according the Post.

The 33-year-old, who played for the Detroit Tigers prior to being traded to the Yankees in 2010, was injured for most of the 2013 season with a broken arm in spring training and a broken pinkie in May. In the 2012 season he slammed 43 home runs
