The members of Metallica are going from Master of Puppets to being immortalized in the Funko Pop! family of figures.

According to a product listing at the band's website, the set of four includes Funko versions of guitarist Kirk Hammett, frontman James Hetfield, bassist Robert Trujillo and drummer Lars Ulrich, all cast in 3.75" plastic and available as a set for $43.96. Although an exact release date isn't listed, the listing promises the figures will be "coming in August." Pre-orders are available through the site now; with any luck, they'll arrive fast enough for fans to bring to the last few dates on the North American leg of the group's WorldWired tour.

Word of Metallica's Funko future first surfaced late last year, when it was reported that the company's musically themed offerings in 2017 would include the group as well as Jimi Hendrix, Alice Cooper and Green Day — just the latest in a long line of celebrities and assorted pop-culture figures who've been given the Funko treatment.

Metallica's Funko figurines come after the recent arrival of the Hendrix and Joey Ramone editions, which were announced in April and scheduled for release this month, and continue a recent string of classic rock-themed additions from the manufacturer. A number of rockers were honored with Funko counterparts last year, including Lemmy and Guns N' Roses, but there's still plenty of room for further additions. The next time the company's looking for ideas for future lineup expansions, they can just take a look at our Funko classic-rock wish list.
