Five people are hospitalized Tuesday night around 9:00 pm following a three-car crash on Route 33 near Sawgrass Drive in Manalapan.

A source with knowledge of the investigation says a Black Van and White Mercedes collided and two men exited the vehicles and started fighting in the westbound lanes.

A third car then collided with one of the the stopped vehicles as the first two drivers went out to check the damage.

One of the men hit was able to get back up, the source says, but was limping.

The three drivers and two passengers involved in the accident were treated at hospitals for non-life threatening injuries, according to the Asbury Park Press and The Patch.

Police are seeking witnesses to the crash as the investigation continues.
